Save recipes from Instagram
You can now save recipes from Instagram Reels directly to Pestle

Hey everyone!
It's Will here again with another edition of Pestle Bites, and this is a good one!
Available now in Pestle 1.8 is a feature that has been in the works for a long time...
Instagram Support
Instagram is packed full of really amazing recipes, and now you'll be able to import these recipes directly to Pestle.
Pestle does all of the processing securely on your device, and near instantaneously. Let's take a look!

Since recipes can be written in a million different ways, sometimes Pestle won't be sure of what to name the recipe, and in these cases we'll just ask:

For now, Pestle only officially supports English recipes, although I've seen some good results with other languages that use the same alphabet.
📝 Import Recipes from Notes
It's not just Instagram, Pestle now supports importing from Notes, or any other plain text source (basically anywhere where you can highlight text and share it).
🖌️ A Fresh Coat of Paint
Pestle 1.8 also comes with a lovely new coat of paint on everything recipe-importing! Let's take a look:
A new way to enter URLs
It's difficult to make typing www. particularly glamorous, but I think I've done it! You'll now get a sheet that slides in from the bottom, along with a beautiful new error page in case anything goes wrong (not that I'd show off an error page here!).

A delightfully over-engineered loading screen
A loading page is no fun – you stare at a spinner and hope something is happening. Now, Pestle will show you a rotating selection of messages while you wait, while food quite literally explodes out the center and falls down your device. (Un)fortunately, Pestle is often so fast 🏎️ that you won't ever see these animations, but if you catch a glimpse you will immediately agree that the many hours it took to make was well spent.
Does it meaningfully improve the loading experience? Not really! But I wanted to add a bit of whimsy!
😮💨 Well that's all for this one!
I'm so happy to finally be sharing this feature with you all! I hope you love it! If you find any English recipes on Instagram which you think Pestle should support but for some reason doesn't, send them my way and I'll see what I can do!
